Bad Hair Clay - Handmade Hair Accessories & A Review

Bad Hair Clay - Handmade Hair Accessories & A Review

Bad Hair Clay - is a small handmade hair accessories business based in Colchester, England and is run by Lauren a Makeup for Media and Performance Graduate. Lauren launched her online store in July 2020 after her graduation and is it here that she creates unique, handmade hair accessories with premium clay.

Lauren states on her website that she 'enjoyed working with clay throughout her degree and decided to use the material in order to create handmade hair accessories for those suffering with bad hair days'. I opted for Lauren's Piper Abstract Orange and Purple Crocodile Hair Clips and Hallie Green and Pink Marble Crocodile Hair Clips which come as a set of two for £7. A steal for something that is handmade with love in England.

*Disclaimer - this is not an ad.

One thing that did catch my eye upon closer inspection, was the little unintentional 'R' on my Piper clip - I actually mentioned this to Lauren via Instagram message upon the arrival of my package because it was something that sparked a good day for me. Besides this I also adore how no two pieces are exactly the same, even when buying in sets of two. It feels as though I got 4 completely unique hair clips and that's not something that I can say I've ever experienced on our high street.

Lauren also included a business card, with care instructions in my package. I have to admit, I really like that personal touch - I first experienced it with Abi and Clay and I'm now experiencing it with Bad Hair Clay and it shows that these small businesses care about the longevity of their products, past the initial buying stage. It's also nice to have something with a pop of colour in my hair on good and bad hair days. I'll definitely be purchasing again.
